In partnership with teachers, our student success coaches form trusting relationships with students and help students build on their strengths, and key social emotional, and academic skills they need to thrive in school and in life.
How City Year works in schools
- Support students’ social emotional learning by build strong and trusting relationships with students
- Foster academic success through meaningful one on one instruction and intervention groups
- Provide attendance support including “walking bus”, and phone calls home
- Support the whole school climate and culture by welcoming students each day with enthusiasm and energy to promote school spirit, participating in Parent Engagement activities, celebrating diversity
