MY TURN’s newest program model opened in Manchester in December 2021. Project Connect develops relationships with youth in the city of Manchester at high risk for criminal involvement. Project Connect uses a multi-pronged approach, employing both street outreach & case management staff to provide a combination of structured and unstructured programming. Outreach is targeted in the low-income, high-crime neighborhoods of the city. Program staff have a presence at a variety of community-based events while programming and case management take place at a multi-use location at 340 Granite Street. Our center hosts classes, guest speakers, support groups, and leisure space where participants will have access to a variety of positive extra-curricular activities.
Youth with eligibility requirements for this program are, but are not limited to: Youth who are truant, youth of incarcerated parents/siblings, residing with 1 or neither biological parent(s), youth with court involvement, youth with affiliation to violent offenders, youth residing in an identified “hot spot,” youth with a critical lack of opportunity, youth who are in/aging out of foster care, youth from families receiving welfare benefits, homeless youth, and pregnant/ parenting youth,
