The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) is a member-based, nonprofit organization located in Manchester, New Hampshire, whose mission is to advance the bioeconomy of the United States. As a recipient of the Build Back Better EDA grant, the institute will positively impact manufacturing, healthcare and the workforce for the City of Manchester. The mission of BioFabUSA, a program of ARMI, is to translate the science of constructing human tissues and organs into processes to manufacture these lifesaving products to be readily available to surgeons and their patients. We strive to educate and train the workforce necessary for that manufacturing through the efforts of our Education and Workforce Development (EWD) Team by working with other nonprofit organizations throughout the community.
ARMI | BioFabUSA is creating engaging learning opportunities throughout the community for students through career exploration, educational exhibits and learning programs. Students can explore various career options in the biomanufacturing industry through our BioFab Explorer website. ARMI is partnered with Manchester’s SEE Science Center, an interactive children’s museum, to inspire youth to explore biotechnology. Program Coordinators are implementing BioTrek, a project-based learning program, in high school classrooms across the district. This cross-curricular program offers students the opportunity to learn about existing medical problems, biofabricated solutions, advanced technologies, entrepreneurship and public speaking. BioTrek is also being offered as an after-school Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) for high school students.
